About Me

In July 2010 I decided that I wanted to become a Certified Personal Trainer. How did this all start you ask? Well in February 2008, the company I use to work for had a weight loss contest, after being convinced by some co-workers to enter it I decided to compete for fun.

At that time I was 29 years old (turning 30 in a few months) and 185lbs (I'm about 5'6" - 5'7" in height). I wasn't always that heavy, when I graduated high school I was 135lbs but was on the Track and Field team for 2 years and very active. When I got pregnant with my first child in July 1999, I was 145lbs, so still at a healthy weight even though I had gained 10lbs since high school. At nine months pregnant (April 2000) I was 183lbs, yep I had gained roughly 40lbs!!! When I went for my 6 week check-up I was 166lbs, after going back to work from maternity leave (about 5 - 6 months later) I was 185lbs.

My second pregnancy wasn't that bad, I got pregnant in February 2004 @ 185lbs, and at nine months pregnant in November 2004 I was 203lbs. So as you can see I went back to my pre-pregnancy weight after the second birth.

Now, going back to the weight loss contest, the rules were whoever loss the highest percentage of their weight was the winner. Guess what? I WON!!! The last day of the contest I weighed in at 165lbs. As of August 2010 I am 160lbs, at one point I did stop working out on a consistent basis. I had spurts where I would consistently work out for a couple of months here and there, but since February 2010 I work out approximately 5 days a week and love it!
