Overeating

I've been trying to blog about this for a while now and after a conversation I had with someone last night I had to make time to talk about overeating.  The person I was talking to stated that they tried a triple whopper (that is something that makes me mentally nauseous) a while back and I was like wow, did you eat it all?  The person replied yes, I feel obligated to.

Hmmm...I thought to myself, obligated to?  So I asked why and was told that they don't throw away food.  I immediately thought to myself that this bad habit must be broke, I suggested to that person that a good amount to put on their plate, for each item that they are eating would be the size of the palm of their hand (if you try this for yourself hopefully you do not have super big hands).

If one overeats on a consistent basis that will cause the stomach to expand, eventually the stomach will have stretched to a new size.  Think about all the organs inside the body, each one has it's own unique place, if the stomach is stretched, more room has to be made to accommodate it, correct?  Where is the extra room coming from?  HINT...There is no extra room, the stretched stomach is now interfering with space that another organ was consuming.

Keep in mind when eating out, a lot of restaurants serve more than a regular serving size of food.  Overeating can lead to health issues such as obesity not to mention the health issues that can accompany obesity.
