Okay, so today I worked out for approximately 50 minutes (3 minute warm-up on the recumbent exercise bike, 33 minutes on the Elliptical which included a 3 minute cool down, and about 15 minutes with the Dumbbells to work my arms [biceps, triceps, and shoulders]).
I burned about 330 calories or so which is not a lot compared to what I usually do but I wasn't feeling my best today (allergies got the best of me and I have an awful cough), so I was trying to take it easy.
When I workout on the Elliptical I usually do the manual setting, no resistance, and an incline between 10-12. I can go as fast a 205 strides per minute but to keep my heart rate between my low and high and in the cardio zone so I do about 158-168 strides per minute. During the 33 minutes on the Elliptical My heart rate was in zone (meaning between my minimum and maximum heart rates which is 144-157) for approximately 25.49 minutes, I did 4,943 strides, and burned 287.2 calories (per the machine's readings).
I prefer to use my awesome heart rate monitor by Polar which gives a more accurate reading of the calories burned and heart rate ranges. As I stated before I took it easy today so I can't wait to post my workout result on a good day using my heart rate monitor.
