You're probably wondering what the heck is Tabata or how to pronounce it (LOL!). In the short, Tabata is high intensity interval training (meaning intense exercising). Tabata is approximately 14 minutes of exercising; 5 minute warm-up, 8 intervals of intense exercising, each interval is 20 seconds with 10 seconds of rest between intervals, and a 5 minute cool down. I took a Circuit Boxing class and my trainer did the Tabata intervals with the class a couple of times. Half way through I was exhausted. During each interval you're suppose to give it your all, so even when you're in the best of shape you will definitely get a little winded! When I become certified as a personal trainer I will definitely incorporate Tabata in some of my programs (but of course only for those individuals that I feel can handle it).

Have you ever had Tabata training? If so, what did you think?
