So I've been on this healthy kick for a while and I'm an avid label reader. Today while deciding to make dinner I chose baked BBQ chicken and chicken flavored rice which has vermicelli in it. Now I know that white rice or pasta isn't the healthiest so as usual I read the back of the box and some of the nutritional information was quite disturbing, one serving size when prepared as instructed is :
300 calories
50g carbs
960g sodium
Are you kidding me? One serving? Totally Gross! I'm not putting that in my body. I'm not the perfect eater, I do have the "unhealthy" stuff every now and then, but I can't add more junk to my every now and then. I still cooked the rice for everyone else but added String Beans and Corn to the menu. Thank God for veggies when other foods are a let down!
